This trek follows the ancient cattle migration route from the south-central district of Dagana to Thimphu in western Bhutan. This trek is mostly in the alpine region and is the only trail that offers spectacular views of the Himalayan range in Bhutan, Nepal, Tibet and India.
The trek will take you deep into areas adorned with a multitude of pristine and crystal-clear mountain lakes – hence the name, Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek. The trek starts at a point between the Thimphu-Paro highway and ends in Thimphu.
Totalling 9 days, this trip consists of the 5-days Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek while including visits to most of the touristic highlights of Western Bhutan. This trip can be lengthened or shortened to suit your preferences.
