This Jomolhari-Laya-Gasa Trek is considered one of the most scenic treks in Bhutan taking you through picturesque destinations, offering amazing views of some of the most pristine and unspoiled landscapes of Bhutan. It varies in altitude from 2,500m to nearly 5,000m. Starting from Paro, you will travel through scenic isolated mountain villages, striking alpine meadows and magnificent waterfalls to finish the trek in Gasa. While on the trek, you will indulge yourself into Bhutan’s pristine nature, and have spectacular views of the sacred Mount Jomolhari, Jichu Drake, Gangchhenta (Great Tiger Mountain), etc.

Along the trail you’ll be able to spot indigenous animals such as blue sheep and Takins, the national animal of Bhutan. You’ll travel through remote mountain villages inhabited by Layaps (people of Laya), a distinct segment of the Bhutanese society with unique culture, traditions and costumes. The trek also offers a day of relaxation at the famous Gasa hot springs that is sure to rejuvenate you.

Totalling 17 days, this trip consists of the 12-days Jomolhari-Laya-Gasa Trek while including visits to most of the touristic highlights of Western Bhutan. This trip can be lengthened or shortened to suit your preferences.
